Abstract
Attempts were made to identify bacteria normally associated with Anastrepha suspensa (Loew). Isolations (70), were made under aerobic conditions from apparently healthy field-collected larvae and larval trails in infested guavas, as well as from laboratory-reared eggs and larvae. Four different bacteria, Micrococcus sp. ( flavus -like), Erwinia sp., Pseudomonas sp., and P. ovalis Chester were encountered. Although possible, none were isolated with such regularity as to suggest an intimate symbiotic relationship. Keywords
