Calculation of the cyclotron-resonance spectrum in the quantum limit for semiconductors (lowest-order Born approximation)

Abstract
Starting from the Kubo formula, the quantum-limit cyclotron-resonance spectrum is calculated for free carriers in a semiconductor. Ionized-impurity and LO-phonon scattering are investigated in the lowest-order Born approximation. For K, excellent agreement is obtained with cyclotron-resonance linewidth measurements of Matsuda et al. in InSb. Cyclotron-resonance harmonics and phonon-assisted harmonics are also discussed. No adjustable parameters are introduced.
