K(L+M)Internal Conversion Ratios forM4Transitions

Abstract
A high resolution magnetic spectrometer has been used to study the internal conversion lines of magnetic four-pole transitions. The K(L+M) internal conversion ratios fall lower than those predicted from the empirical curve of Goldhaber and Sunyar in the region of low values of Z2E. A revised curve is presented. The following values are obtained for the energy of the transition and for the K(L+M) ratio: Y91, 551.2 kev, 6.00; Sr87, 388.2 kev, 5.79; Y87, 381.3 kev, 5.41; Ba137, 661.4 kev, 4.64; In113, 391.7 kev, 4.21; and In115, 334.6 kev, 3.76. Values are also given for lines in Cd111 and In114.
