Abstract
The thyroid wt.-body wt. (TW/BW) and adrenal wt.-body wt. (AW/BW) ratios were detd. in control guinea pigs during early and late pregnancy and in the puerperium. There was no increase in the AW/BW ratio in early pregnancy but a marked increase (48%) was observed in late pregnancy and in the postpartum period (58%). A significant increase in water content of the adrenals occurred in the postpartum period. The TW/BW ratio remained unchanged during pregnancy and during the puerperium. The water content of the thyroid too remained unchanged. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
