Abstract
A général treatment of the depolarizing DID effect in Rayleigh and Raman light scattering is given in terms of binary, ternary, and quaternary position correlations. Explicit formulae are obtained at low and high densities for the density dependence of the depolarization ratio. The moderate densities case is discussed in relation with some recent observationsKeywords
