Abstract
The main methods for measuring oxygen consumption in the brain are briefly discussed and their main advantages and limitations are mentioned. It is concluded that such methods are superior for measuring the metabolic rate in the brain in non-steady-state situations, as well as in conditions leading to a mismatch between oxygen consumption and glucose utilization. Keywords
