Abstract
The distribution of the average noise power from a Poisson stream of vehicles is, properly normalised, shown to converge to a normal distribution although the corresponding stationary process is deterministic. The speed of convergence is estimated. Finally the asymptotic efficiency of a sampling procedure is discussed. Keywords
