Abstract
The paper deals with the derivation of a formula describing the X-irradiation-dose dependence of a chemical reaction catalyzed by a chain of consecutive enzymes as, for example, the glycolytic or respiratory chain or synthetic reactions. The formula contains two parameters [alpha], describing the radiosensitivity of the "most sensitive enzyme" of the chain, and R, the kinetic constant reflecting the turnover numbers of the steps and the number of the steps themselves. The applicability of the formula is shown for the dose dependence of tissue respiration to X-irradiation of several rat tissues. Keywords
