Abstract
A further extraction of the bark of Eupomatia laurina R. Br.from North Queensland yielded 17 substances: liriodenine, norushinsunine, β-sitosterol, eupomatenoid-1,-7 and -8, (±)-trans-dehydrodiisoeugenol(2), eupolauridine, eupolauramine and hydroxyeupolauramine, together with the seven new substances, eupomatenoid-13, eupodienone-4, -5, -6 and -7, and EL-base-4 and -5.Eupomatenoid-13 was shown to be 2-(4'-hydroxyphenyl)-7-methoxy-3-methyl-5-(E)-propenylbenzofuran (1). Extraction of a sample of bark from New Guinea yielded eupolauramine, hydroxyeupolauramine, Β-sitosterol, eupomatenoid-1, -2, -3 and -11, and eupodienone-1, -2, -3, -4, -5, -6 and -7.Keywords
