Abstract
A comparison of the ability of spore and vegetative soluble ribonucleic acid (sRNA) of B. subtilis to accept several amino-acids reveals a marked enrichment of lysine-specific sRNA in spore preparations. Chromatography showed that the enrichment of lysine-sRNA in the spore sRNA was partly accounted for by the presence of lysyl-sRNA not found in appreciable amounts in vegetative cells.
