Abstract
IN Sweden intravenous abuse of central stimulants is the most serious of all drug-abuse problems. At present the main drug on the illegal market is amphetamine, with phenmetrazine (Preludin) second. Earlier there was also widespread abuse of methylphenidate (Ritalin). The Swedish addicts show very little interest in heroin and other opiates although these drugs are available on the illegal market.Sweden has, according to reasonable estimates, about 10,000 addicts using central stimulants.
