Abstract
The inverse lifetime, , of spin-flip processes for the conduction electrons in a Heisenberg ferromagnet is calculated in the first Born approximation. It is found that the temperature derivative of varies as and is negative above and positive below . Comparison is made with the behavior of the electrical resistivity near . The impact upon the superconducting transition temperature is examined.
