Abstract
White rust (Albugo Candida race 7) was studied on detached leaves from 12- to 14-day-old seedlings of Brassica campestris incubated on a medium containing benzyladenine and 0.8% agar. The optimal benzyladenine concentration was 0.5 ppm. Plant susceptibility ratings with inoculated detached leaves were essentially the same as when intact plants were used as the host. Total production of sporangia was somewhat greater on attached leaves. The excised leaf technique proved to be a useful means of screening breeding lines and other Brassica crop plants for resistance to A. candida. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
