The Calculation of Pressure in the Tissues Resulting from Torsional Forces

Abstract
A formula is described by means of which, on the basis of certain simplifying assumptions, the actual pressure at any point on the root surface of a tooth, subjected to torsional force, can be calculated. Calculations of pressures delivered by different mechanisms are presented. Although these calculations were based on average tooth measurements, individual calculations are possible by measuring a particular tooth on an accurate radiograph.
