Abstract
The methods of group theory and the algebra of plethysm are used to give a complete symmetry classification of the scalar two-particle operators that have non-vanishing matrix elements in the configurations pn, dn, fn and (d + s)n. The identification of both real and effective interactions having these symmetry properties is discussedKeywords
