Faulty Sensory Localization in Nerve Regeneration

Abstract
Faulty postoperative reference of pain and touch stimuli may be the earliest evidence of nerve regeneration. Early accurate localization can be subserved by pathways other than the sutured one. Since regeneration is haphazard, faulty reference is to be expected and may persist years after regeneration is complete. The latter observation suggests anatomical central representation of skin senses.Keywords
