Abstract
Samples of Queensland-grown sunflower oil were analysed for refractive index, iodine value and fatty acid levels. Regression equations were developed for the prediction of iodine value, linoleic acid or oleic acid levels from a refractive index measurement. The incorporation of a temperature coefficient in these equations greatly simplifies the apparatus required, thus making them applicable to field conditions.
