Abstract
Results of 22 needle aspiration biopsies performed over 1 yr were analyzed to determine the role of this procedure in diagnosing patients with suspected pulmonary carcinoma. Sensitivity for diagnosing pulmonary carcinoma was 79%; specificity was 100%. Accuracy was greatest when the pulmonary mass was against the chest wall. Apparently, needle aspiration biopsy has an important role in diagnosing suspected pulmonary carcinoma. It is the procedure of choice when the mass is against the chest wall. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
