Abstract
Noninvasive translumbar renal artery Doppler blood flow patterns were obtained in 20 normal children, 11 with successfully repaired coarctation, and eight with native or restenosed coarctation. Native or restenosed lesions result in decreased relative systolic velocity and prolonged acceleration time. After successful surgery, the renal flow returns to near normal. This technique may provide a useful tool to explore and predict hemodynamic and renal physiologic changes, and follow the course of therapy. Keywords
