Abstract
Differential cross sections of 14-MeV neutrons elastically scattered from liquid samples of oxygen and argon have been measured using associated-particle time-of-flight techniques. Careful attention was given to the subtraction of background neutrons scattered from the Dewar walls. The corrected data were analyzed in terms of four- and six-parameter optical-model calculations. A possible ambiguity in the imaginary potential for oxygen is discussed. The sensitivity of the results to the parameters in the spin-orbit potential is also examined. Keywords
