Identification of monocular functions.

Abstract
An experiment designed to determine to what extent it is possible for an observer to tell "in which eye a sensation is." The observers were kept ignorant of which eye had been stimulated by low illumination in a dark room, and the authors conclude that with some individuals, at least, the eye involved in monocular functions may be identified when outside aids are removed. The ability to tell which eye is functioning is subject to training in some observers. Possibly all subjects might acquire this ability under prolonged training. Early uncertainty gives way to positive assurance concerning the eye or eyes stimulated. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
