Abstract
This paper describes the outline, the technical details and the output beam characteristics of a six-beam high-power Nd glass laser system used to irradiate [(CD2)n] spherical targets. The laser pulse width can be varied from 1 ns to 4 ns. If the pulse length is 2ns, the output energy of each of the six-beams is approximately 50 J, the beam divergence being 0.4 mrad and the total output power of all these beams approaching approximately 1.5 × 1011 watts. Keywords
