Abstract
This report presents the main characteristics of reforms in the Swedish health services, as exemplified by the “Stockholm Model” introduced in 1992 in Stockholm county. The author discusses the motives behind these reforms, the already-evident increases in costs that are occurring, and the effect of these reforms on public support for the welfare state.Keywords
