Abstract
The 96 dissyllables of Noble (1952) were scaled as to rated association value when presented visually, orally, or both visually and orally. Correlations among mean and median association values were all quite high (.90 or above). Thus, it was concluded that available lists of pronounceable verbal items can be used when it is desired to vary association values for pronounced items. Keywords
