Syntheses and Structures of 13‐Substituted 1,5,9‐Triazatricyclo[7.3.1.05,13]‐tridecanes and Their Copper(II) Chloride Complexes

Abstract
The orthoamides2a, b(R = Ph and PhCH2) have been prepared by alkylation of the guanidinium salt4+BPh4with PhNa and PhCH2Na, respectively. The crystal structures of the two orthoamides have been determined by X‐ray crystallography. Their reaction with CuCl2gives 1:1 complexes. The crystal structure of the complex with2ashows a square planar geometry around the copper atom with η2‐2aand two chlorides and weak interactions two the third nitrogen atom and a C–H bond of2ain the axial positions.
