Abstract
It has been shown in a previous study (Lereim et al. 1974) that the hardness of subchondral trabecular bone of the medial tibial condyles increases with increasing age in normal individuals irrespective of sex. In patients with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis the hardness, however, was significantly lower than in the normal group. There was no significant difference between osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Keywords
