Abstract
A monkey virus called SV40 that contaminated early batches of polio vaccine and was soon found to cause four types of tumors in hamsters was deemed safe decades ago, but it keeps turning up in human tumors. Now researchers are figuring out how the virus might imperil cells and are searching for ways to stop it.Keywords
