PAINFUL NODULAR GROWTH OF THE EAR

Abstract
Seven years ago, I read before this association a clinical and histologic description, based on four cases, of a small nodular, painful growth occurring on the rim of the ear.1 Since then, I have seen eight additional instances of this disorder in private practice, and two in the course of the medical examination of men drafted for service. In 1915, Winkler2 of Lucerne described what is undoubtedly the same condition under the designation of "chondrodermatitis nodularis chronica helicis." Winkler's article was unknown to me until after the presentation of my paper in 1917, and to him belongs the priority of its description. With the exception of the report of a case presented by Mitchell3 before the Chicago Dermatological Society in 1922, and the statement in Sutton's4 textbook that he and Markley had each seen two cases, I have found no further references to this affection inThis publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
