Abstract
The genus Arctagrostis in North America and Greenland was studied using fieldwork in the Canadian Arctic, examination of about 1000 herbarium specimens including types, consideration of chromosome numbers relative to morphology, and numerical taxonomy. We recognize two subspecies, A. latifolia (R. Br.) Griseb. and A. latifolia ssp. arundinacea (Trin.) Tzvelev, which show considerable phenotypic plasticity and may hybridize. Keywords
