Abstract
It is shown how the Lorentz-Raman-Krishnan anisotropic cavity model for the dielectric constant, as well as experimental measurements of the dielectric constant, can be used to predict ‘effective anisotropies’ for depolarized light scattering. The results for the LRK model disagree with the conclusions of Burnham, Alms and Flygare. The method should be applicable to other dielectric models. Keywords
