Abstract
Adrenalectomized rats showed a greater preference than controls for a sodium solution which was paired with a nonsodium solution in a single 10-min. preference test made 5 days after operation. Unoperated rats maintained on a sodium-deficient diet showed the same immediate preference. It was concluded that these preferences are based on the taste of the solution, rather than on drive-reduction learning. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)Keywords
