Abstract
Work concerning the calculation of laminar boundary layers has been carried out utilizing high‐speed computers. The velocity and the temperature in the boundary layers have been calculated with generalized Blasius series and with finite‐difference methods. The series are applicable for the very general outer velocity distribution U = x m (u 0 + u 1 x n + u 2 x 2n + . . .) , where m, n , and u i are arbitrary constants. Universal functions for the velocity and the temperature are derived and calculated once and for all.
