Abstract
The high resolution capability of gel permeation chromatography is demonstrated by a system yielding 180,000 theoretical plates capable of resolving to 4σ materials which differ by less than 10% in molecular weight. The use of α values to calculate column requirements is described. The practicability of using a recycle system employing a reciprocating pump and rigid gels to obtain high resolution with moderate length columns is demonstrated. Keywords
