Abstract
Three cases of fat necrosis in the newborn are reported, and the various etiological factors discussed. Anoxemia resulting from asphyxia is suggested as the most likely predisposing element. Fat necrosis of the newborn is regarded as an inflammation of the fat tissues not limited to the subcut. panniculus adiposus, and points of similarity with Weber-Christian disease are stressed. Keywords
