Abstract
The majority of pacemakers are used for treatment of heart block, but their applicability is far wider: for sick sinus syndrome, for bundle branch blocks, for prolonged H-V times, and more. Indications and contraindications and the characteristics of various types of pacers are described. Selection depends on a thorough knowledge of cardiac conduction and appropriate diagnostic methods. Keywords
