Abstract
With rapid changes in science, technology, management, and economic planning, new challenges confront nursing. The author specifies some of the ramifications related to changes in the health care delivery system in general and in nursing in particular. The human becoming theory is discussed as a guide to nursing practice and research and is specified as a way to fortify nursing's identity. Some challenges for those living and learning the theory in practice and research are also discussed. Keywords
