Abstract
Thirty-three volatile oils or their components were tested for their effect on tuberculosis of guinea pigs. Five substances, linalool, citronellol, ginger oil, juniper oil, and pine needle oil, increased the efficacy of small doses of dihydro-streptomycin. These substances presumably act exclusively on the host, increasing the capillary permeability and inducing phagocytic activity of the capillary endothelium. Keywords
