Abstract
The mean cerebral blood flow measured by the N2O technique in two series of 12 and 13 patients with mitral stenosis was found to be lower than that of 6 normal controls. On inhalation of 5% CO2 in air by the series of 12 patients, the mean cerebral blood flow increased by +31% suggesting this method as a therapeutic increase in the treatment of cerebral embolism when it occurs in patients with mitral stenosis. Keywords
