Abstract
The authors present a finite-element formulation for an overall ultrasonic NDT (nondestructive testing) system, including appropriate models for transmitter and receiver transducers. Transducer considerations are discussed. Results are given for two-dimensional plane-strain geometry simulations that agree qualitatively with corresponding experimental measurements and show the potential of the method.<>Keywords
