A Study of the High Frequency Fundamental Bands in the Spectrum of AsH3and AsD3

Abstract
An analysis has been carried out on the fundamental bands ν1 and ν2 (Dennison's notation), in the infra-red spectrum of AsH3. This analysis has made possible the evaluation of the reciprocals of inertia, B, and the Coriolis coupling coefficient, ζ2. These are found to be B=3.723 cm1, B(ν1)=3.682 cm1, B(ν2)=3.69 cm1 and ζ2=0.0602. The harmonic vibration frequencies have been computed after the method of Dennison. The values obtained are ω1=2209.2 cm1, ω2=2225.8 cm1, ω3=973.3 cm1, and ω4=1012.1 cm1 for the AsH3 molecule and ω1=1571.2 cm1, ω2=1582.4 cm1, ω3=696 cm1, and ω4=718.6 cm1 for AsD3. This information permits the calculation of
