Abstract
Tray tests were conducted to determine the comparative efficiency of carriers and extenders for cuelure, medlure, and methyl eugenol in programs of male annihilation. Certain so-called glycerides of lard extended the attractancy of all 3 lures when 7–10% of Myverol was added to 100 ml of lure. This thickening-agent may make it possible to eliminate male melon flies, Dacus cucurbilae Coquillett, and Mediterranean fruit flies, Ceralitis Capetata (Wiedemann), without use of solid carriers and could he a valuable addition to eradication programs against the oriental fruit fly, D. dorsalis Hendel, when it is used in conjunction with cane-fiber squares. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
