Abstract
The peripheral blood plasma of 109 premature infants was analysed for bile pigments daily for the first 6 days of life. The range and extent of bilirubinemia present in the infant community was established for different weight groups. Oral administration of 10 jug tri-iodothyronine (Tertroxin) for the first 5 days of life had no effect on the bilirubinemia of prematurity. Keywords
