Near-infrared observations of the bipolar outflow source G35.2N

Abstract
Near-infrared observations of the bipolar outflow source G35.2N are presented. They show a single unresolved 2.2-μm source (IRSl) whose spectrum is consistent with a B0.5 ZAMS star reddened by $${A}_{V}=75$$, together with a cooler dust component (Tdust = 105 K). This is about 3 arcsec from the centre of both the molecular disc and double compact H II region, and is presumably the exciting star for the region. Also present is nebulosity extending to 45 arcsec from the centre, which may be due to reflection of starlight from the inner surface of the stellar wind outflow cone. The υ=1 – 0 S(1) line of H2 was also observed, and seems to be anticorrelated with the molecular disc material.
