Abstract
HYPOGLYCEMIA is a significant complication of diabetes therapy. Although mild hypoglycemia causes unpleasant symptoms and disrupts patients' daily activities, severe hypoglycemia can result in coma, seizures, and death. Moreover, recurrent episodes of mild hypoglycemia can alter the counterregulatory response to decreased blood glucose levels and lead to hypoglycemia unawareness, placing patients at increased risk for development of severe hypoglycemia.1 Recurrent hypoglycemia has also been found to decrease quality of life in patients with diabetes.2-4Keywords
