Rotation therapy with a cobalt 60 unit

Abstract
Dose distributions measured in circumaxial rotation with a C06O teletherapy unit and their variation with axial field size and phantom diameter are presented. A comparison of 360[degree] and 270[degree] rotational isodose distributions is made. A brief outline of the method used to determine rotational treatment factors, and a simple setting-up procedure, using only a front and back pointer and 2 skin marks, is given. Radiographic positioning checks can be per-formed satisfactorily for most sites with Co60 radiation. A versatile rotation stretcher-chair combination is described. The treatment is convenient and rapid.
