Abstract
Mosher and Keith (1980) present a review of individual, group, family, and community support system approaches to the psychosocial treatment of schizophrenia. To this end, they review individual psychotherapy, group therapy of hospitalized patients, group psychotherapy combined with other psychosocial interventions, aftercare treatment studies (including group vs. individual therapy, and group vs. no group therapy), family studies, and community support systems. They conclude that we know more about the effectiveness of psychosocial treatment than is generally acknowledged and that there is consistent evidence of its effectiveness. Keywords
