Abstract
In this paper, simple approximations are derived for the BER performance of coherent PSK-TCM over the Rayleigh channel with diversity, including the cases of branch and time correlation. Starting from a simple approximation of the Gaussian error function, a common methodology is described based on the derivation of the moment generating function of the sum of correlated squared-Rayleigh RVs. A simple final result is obtained requiring only the knowledge of the eigenvalues of some channel-related covariance matrices and the distance profile of the TCM scheme. Keywords
