Traumatic rupture of the diaphragm

Abstract
Twelve cases of traumatic tear of the diaphragm were operated upon. In 9 operation was done less than a week after the accident, with 8 excellent results and 1 death. Three cases were recognized late in patients who had sustained chest injuries months or years earlier. Repair was accomplished in all patients through a thoracic approach.
