Abstract
Results are presented of calculations on the photoionization of neon and argon based on a recently developed many-body theory of atomic transitions. The results of our calculation demonstrate that this approach is capable of providing a reliable theoretical estimation as well as studying the individual contributions of various many-body effects associated with the atomic transitions. Keywords
