Abstract
A preliminary list is given of 25 mammals from the Mesolithic layers, including several that are now unknown in the region. A change from moist conditions in Mousterian times to a dry climate in the Mesolithic is suggested by the preponderance of deer (Cervus and Dama) remains in the Mousterian layers, the occurrence of gazelles {Gazella) and deer in equal proportions in the Aurignacian, and the abundance of gazelles in the Mesolithic. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
